So much to talk about.... Where do I even start?! Thanksgiving, Angeal, Cloud and Seph, Christmas...!
Basically, I finally found Angeal! He didn't remember anything at first, but it all came back pretty quick! He and Seph seem to have fixed up their friendship, too! I'm just ecstatic about it.
We got mixed up in a crazy plot of Dalton's, too. Turns out he owns a company called Fragmented Triangle, and the embezzler was a spy from there. He wanted us to get this weird amethyst for him, and we wouldn't, of course. So he kidnapped Maryn and had us chase him all the way down to South America! Azazel Rakesh was there too. Creep survived that avalanche ten years ago.
And can you believe it?! His dead brother, the guy who gave Seph that scar, possessed Cloud! It was awful. Cloud was acting so weird, and none of us could figure out why. When we got to South America, we figured it out.
The amethyst seemed to have a mind of its own, too. Man ... it's creepy even thinking about it. The worst thing of all was that it nearly killed Seph when everyone was grabbing for it. Seph took on his modified Safer form and poured all his energy and strength into stopping the thing from destroying the whole temple. Poor Cloud was so distraught! He thought it was all his fault. And he realized then what I've tried to tell him for months, that Seph's his friend. He actually said that, thinking he was talking to poor Seph's dead body. Seph was watching everything in spirit form, and he finally realized that Cloud cares. He finally confessed that he thinks of Cloud as a friend, too.
It was awful, when Angeal and I found them in the chamber they'd fallen into. Seph was laying there dead, and Cloud looked so crushed....
If Cloud's mom hadn't let Seph come back to life, I don't know what we would have done. We were all so broken up.... But he's alive and well!
We sure had a lot to be thankful for on Thanksgiving. Seph's okay, and he and Cloud finally realize they're buddies.... Angeal's living with us now, and he's getting along well with everyone. Marlene seems especially nuts about him. She's adopted Seph as an uncle figure, too.
I'll talk about Christmas in another post. It's been an amazing season! These Earth holidays are so great.
... I do havta wonder what the deal is about Dalton and Rakesh. Haven't seen them since the temple collapsed, but I have this funny feeling that they're not dead.

Was randomly browsing on the Internet and somehow found this guy: http://webstudent21.basd.k12.wi.us/Gackt_bio.jpg Creepy thing is, he's got a really weird resemblance to Genesis! If everyone has a double, maybe this Gackt person is Genesis's.
... Seph just wandered in and said maybe it is Genesis. He's just being sarcastic, but man ... if Genesis showed up in a getup like that, that'd be really scary. Seriously, can you imagine Genesis with mascara and black lipstick and fake scars? I dunno whether to laugh or run for cover.
And in other, less-Halloweeny news, Maryn's turned up here! Wow ... that was really unexpected. And she still has Pala, my chocobo ... well, hers, now. She came over for dinner last night, with Ms. Mueller, and Pala stayed by the kitchen window on the outside. After all these years, she still remembers me! She was leaning in the window, messing with my hair and making all these cooing sounds.
Ms. Mueller was pretty reluctant to come, at first. Because of Seph and all that. She never did seem to like him much, and after Meteor, well ... yeah. I had to explain to her how Seph had just lost his mind, but that he was sane again now and that Maryn was not in danger at all being around him. She was still doubtful, but she does trust me (I guess), so she decided she and Maryn would come.
I heard Maryn talking to Seph after dinner. She was asking him if he regretted what he'd done. It was pretty heart-twisting to listen to. Poor kid was about in tears, talking about how Meteor had affected her and so many people so deeply. And Seph ... I know it really hurts Seph, when anyone brings it up. He feels so horrible about it anyway, every day, and then to be asked if he cares at all isn't a very happy thing for him. But he let Maryn know how much he does regret it and how he's always thinking about it. And it seemed to really help. She hugged him and said she was happy he was back. I was just thinking "Awww!"
Wish it would be that easy to get Cloud to admit he cares about Seph. I mean, come on, it's so plain that he does! The more he yells and screams and denies it, the more I can see it's true. Seph thinks I'm nuts, though. He's sure the most that can be hoped for is that Cloud'll keep tolerating him.
And oh yeah, Maryn left some really big news. She says she's been seeing some guy wandering through her neighborhood sometimes, and from the stuff I've told her, it sounds like it could be Angeal! I don't wanna get my hopes up too high or anything, but ... wow, if this is true, if Angeal's here, this is just amazing! I've missed him like crazy. It's gotta be him. It's just gotta.
I'm going to hang out in Maryn's neighborhood later today, see if I can spot him. Seph isn't too hopeful, and he said he's got too much work to come with me, but he did say that if I find him I can bring him for dinner.
I get this feeling Seph doesn't want to meet up with him. I'm not sure why. Maybe he feels like Angeal will hate him, after everything Seph did? Angeal wouldn't be like that! But then again, I've never known exactly what happened between Seph and Angeal, if they just drifted apart or if they had a falling out or something. I think Seph feels like Genesis betrayed him, but he hasn't said much about Angeal. I just know I don't want to see tension between more of my friends. I'm gonna talk to Seph about this.

Okay, better write the rest of this before something else comes up.
The other Cloud had already met us, and he didn't seem to care too much about me and Cloud being there, but he really didn't like Seph. And he was ready to hit something when Cloud said that we're all working at a company. He couldn't believe that Cloud would willingly work with Seph.
The other Seph didn't even notice any of us were there. It was awful. He'd tried to wrap his Zack's wounds, and was just carrying him with this lost look in his eyes.... Zack was trying to hang on, but he just couldn't after a while. When he went all limp, that poor Seph looked like he'd been pierced with a sword. I just wanted to run over to him. But then he found that Zack was still alive and kept going.
Seph had some kind of private doctors he'd hired, and when we got back to the house, he told those guys to help Zack. Then he just headed for his home office and Cloud followed after him. And outside, we could hear this big mob yelling "Death to Sephiroth!" They'd collected a whole lot more people and were surrounding the whole house. They started throwing things through the windows after a while.
The other Cloud really got upset when that started happening. He was afraid they'd break in and hurt Zack, and he was blaming that Seph for all of the trouble. He said that Seph should just go out to those people and then maybe they'd go away and not try to get in. Poor guy started feeling like it was true after a while. He was so devastated thinking of all the horrible things he'd been doing, and even stabbing Zack (even though he didn't mean to), that he just felt like Cloud was right and he should give himself up to the mob. He finally said "So be it" and walked off, pulling open the door and going out into the fray. I tried to call him back, but he wasn't listening.
I know we're not supposed to mess up the other dimensions' stuff, but I didn't care about that right then. I didn't want to see any Seph get hurt, and I knew his Zack wouldn't want him to just go get himself hurt ... or worse. So I was all set to run out after him.
But then the other Cloud went tearing past, and he was all upset yelling "What have I done?!" He said later that he really blamed himself for what happened to Zack, because he'd stayed there arguing with him instead of leaving like Zack wanted him to, and that if Seph went and got himself killed, and Zack did survive, Cloud didn't know how he'd ever face Zack again.
He ran outside too, and there was all this yelling and laughing going on.... I was really worried that they were both going to be killed. I was still going to go after them, and try to help out, but then the door flew open and the other Seph came back in, carrying Cloud. Cloud had gotten hurt really bad trying to fix his mistake. And there was something different in that Seph's eyes, too. I saw the determination I've always known my Seph for. He was going to try to work hard to make the world better again, and not just give up and let himself be killed.
And I'm happy to say that both Cloud and Zack are getting better! Cloud was really sick that first night or two, came down with a bad fever because of his guilt. We all tried to help take care of him, but that Seph wanted to do most of it on his own. He felt responsible for it. Cloud just didn't seem to be recovering, though. I don't think he could unless he knew Zack would be okay.
We weren't sure he would be for several days. That was a really nasty wound. But he finally came to and remembered everybody, and the doctors figured he'd pull through.
Seph didn't think he should tell Zack about Cloud at first. He was afraid that Zack might get too upset while his condition was still really bad. But Zack knew something was wrong. He finally got Seph to tell him about it, and then Zack said for Cloud to be moved into his room. So that happened, and it really helped Cloud a lot. By the time we left, they were both going to be fine, and Seph was already working with that world's Restoration Committee to try to get things in order.
I actually kinda wish I could go back there again, see how things are coming along. But maybe I will be able to, knowing how things are always happening. I guess I'd rather go back there instead of going to yet another world.
Seph told me that I shouldn't worry about it, it's not our affair anyway and things are probably as fine as they can be. I know all that, but still ... it's Seph and Cloud. I wanna know things are going good for them, and that Zack's going to be all better. I wanna know that Seph will be able to stay sane, and that the people will give him another chance. And I wanna know that Cloud's going to be able to get past all these intense feelings and pain ... maybe even to forgive that Seph. They deserve a happy ... well, not an ending, but a beginning.

I've got an explanation! Or an excuse, whatever you wanna call it!
Some kinda freaky hole opened up in the space time continuum (that's what Seph called it, right?), and ever since then, we've been having this crazy problem of being whisked away to other dimensions for a few days. We've been to at least three in the past two months, and when we're home, we're still chasing down leads on this embezzler.
So ... quick run-down on these worlds. I guess the weirdest thing about them is that there's other versions of us there. I mean ... I thought I was the only one! But Aerith did say that I'm the only one like me, and each other Zack would be different in some ways. But it still seems ... just not right.
And we only end up somewhere else when these crazy people here are deliberately dimension hopping. Others in the city sometimes get carried off, too.
Anyway.... First world. It was like here in some ways, but in other ways it was just ... wrong. The lady who works at one of the other companies in town was a rockstar there, and she married one of her bandmates. Actually, she works at Kaiba Corp here, but the Kaiba Corp there was bought out by Seph and Cloud. Err ... that's right, isn't it? Or did I just mix up this world and the next one? Man ... shows I've been to too many.
In the second world, I do remember absolutely that Cloud was really bitter. He hadn't been able to find anyone else, and Seph was ... well, Cloud thought Seph was dead. Actually, he'd been encased in stone, like my Seph here. But so I went to try to talk to the Cloud there, because he'd stumbled on us and yelled at Seph, thinking he was the Seph there. He was upset when he realized we were from another dimension. It was understandable. I mean, he kept hoping that some of the people he knew were turning up, but it kept being people from other worlds. He didn't wanna listen to me at first, but finally he opened up and admitted that he was angry that he hadn't been able to save Seph.
Long story short, one of the employees at that Jenova Corp was mixed up in some plot with a criminal organization that wanted a healing gem. She slipped the thing to me because she didn't want to be caught with it when a couple of hitmen burst into the company building. Somehow we all got out of that alive, and then I had the idea to try using the stone on the poor Seph in that world. He'd been frozen in stone by Jenova, locked in combat with one of her mind-control victims.
So ... we went there and used it on him, and he was freed! (His opponent was already dead, killed by him when he had to stop her.) I think the Cloud there was relieved. Not that he'd admit it, of course.
Oh yeah, and before we left, my counterpart got revived! That was another thing, he'd been called to some other mission in the afterlife, Aerith too, so they couldn't even be around in spirit form. I think the Aerith there was brought back as well. Hope so!
... I wonder what's happened to Angeal in all these worlds. I've never seen him mentioned.
You know, I'm not sure what was the craziest time: the second or the third. When we got back to our own dimension the second time, we ended up in some creepy town that's like Lily Valley! That was not a pleasant surprise. Dunno how we all made it out of there alive. Seph said it was probably just because none of us were supposed to die then.
The third time ... oh wow. We were in a world that Seph had taken over in his madness. He was still nuts from Nibelheim, he'd conquered Gaia, and then he conquered that dimension's version of Earth. And I was with him. This other me had left with Seph at Nibelheim, hoping to be able to bring him out of his madness. My Cloud was incredulous. I was pretty surprised too, actually. I mean ... you know I'd do anything I possibly could to save Seph, but going with him after he'd lost it, and having to stand by while he did so many horrible things ... I don't know if I could bear that. The Cloud there was angry and confused, and I don't know if he'd forgiven Zack for that.
Seph was still nuts there when we arrived, and Cloud was in prison. But Tifa organized a prison break, and Cloud joined in, and everyone ran out. Zack found Cloud and was worried about what Seph would say if he came and found Cloud had broke out. Zack wanted Cloud to hurry and go, but Cloud started arguing with Zack about why he'd stayed with Seph.
Seph found them then, and he and Cloud started fighting. And Zack was trying to stop the fight. He was so worried that someone was going to get hurt. Well ... someone did, alright.
Seph's expression when his sword ran Zack through ... it was awful. I can't even describe how I felt, actually witnessing that. And my Seph, I know he could hardly bear it.
This whole mob of townspeople started gathering then, yelling for Seph's blood. But Zack was still alive, and he was trying to tell them that too much had gone on in madness and hatred. He wanted them to leave Seph alone.
Seph took Zack in his arms and turned to go. He was still really shaken. And I think it was about then when I realized that the shock of what'd happened had brought him back to his sanity, at least for right then. He walked off, heading back towards his place, and Cloud went chasing after them. And since we couldn't get home yet, and I wanted to know what was going to happen to them, we ended up following.
That night, when we were waiting to know if Zack would make it ... that was definitely one of the longest nights I've ever gone through. And if it felt like weeks to me, I hate to think how that Seph and Cloud felt.
I'll have to continue this later. Seph popped in to remind me about some meeting.

Looks like I've been neglecting this place again. And looking back to my first entry, I've had this blog for about a month now. It seems like it's been so much longer than that. I guess it's because so much has been going on.
We've been trying to track down that embezzler the past couple weeks. There's been some leads, and then they've just fizzled out. But I think whoever it is knows that we've noticed the missing funds. Nothing's been taken since then. I guess they don't want to leave any possible clues to their identity. But we'll catch 'em!
I asked Seph the other day if he ever plans to cut his bangs again. They're down to his chest now, but when we were in SOLDIER, they were to his chin. He said he probably won't, because he isn't that person anymore. I said that if he just keeps letting them grow, he won't have any bangs at all, or else he'll have them, but it'll look silly. He said that that's when he'd probably consider cutting them.

Looks like I slacked off here. It's been really hectic, though. Seph was sick for a couple more days after I last posted, and then on the third day he opened his eyes and they were clear again. That was ... well, saying it was a relief sounds kinda trite. I mean ... he was so bad off we didn't even know if he would make it! But then he wasn't delirious anymore; he talked to me coherently, and later on, he talked to Cloud, too. I'm not sure what they said, but Cloud seemed more relaxed when he walked out of Seph's room. And Seph didn't seem upset, either.
So ... Seph's better now. He's been up and around the last few days, and he's been trying to work, even though he probably shouldn't. Stubborn idiot. But eh ... that's Seph for ya. Gotta love him.
Cloud and me have been pretty busy.... While Seph was down, we were trying to take care of him and to get the workload done. Aerith came to us several times and told us to just rest, and that she'd look after Seph. We took her up on it a couple times. I think Seph was pretty surprised when he was told about that later. I mean, considering ... you know. But Aerith, she's always been really forgiving and accepting of Seph. She knows he's not the same guy who did all those horrible things.
Aerith called us a family the other day---a really weird, mismatched family, but a family all the same! I guess we are at that. Other than her and me and Cloud and Seph, Tifa and the kids live here too. And Kadaj and his brothers like to divide their time between staying here and hanging out with Cid and Shera. Not sure what they think of that!

Seph's really sick.
When I went in to him, he was sprawled on the floor and Cloud was grabbing his shoulder, kinda shaking him, yelling for him to wake up. He just groaned, looking so weak and pale.... I couldn't stand to see him like that.
He did wake up when I knelt down and tried to take his temperature. His eyes kinda opened and he smirked, mumbling that he couldn't seem to get up. I told him not to try, that he should just rest. And then he passed out again....
This happened here at home, and we've got him in his bed. Shera came over, and she thinks he caught something because of how hard he's been working and how tired he is. So the mental stress is probably some of it, but not all. She's running some tests to try to figure out exactly what's going on.
He's got a bad fever, and Cloud and I have been trying to bring it down. It's not easy, and he's been in and out of consciousness all day. Sometimes he's delirious and pleads to be forgiven for what he did when he lost his mind. I think Cloud's affected by it more than he's willing to say. He left the room at that point and he hasn't been back.
Seph's not awake right now. But he unfurled the wing out of his body and it's hanging over the edge of the bed. I'm not sure why he did that. Guess he probably didn't even know he was doing it.
He looks so helpless like this....
Marlene peeked in and asked if he's gonna be okay. She said Cloud's upset about Seph being sick. I told her Seph'll be fine. That has to be true.... It just has to be!
... Man, I must've fallen asleep right here at my laptop. I woke up with the keys imprinted on my cheek.
Looks like I've slept for a couple hours. I didn't mean to conk out like that. But Seph doesn't look any different. And ... Cloud's sitting there watching him, looking putout. Wonder when he came back....
Cloud says Seph was asking for me. I feel awful I wasn't awake. And when I asked how he seemed, Cloud said he was still delirious.
Poor Seph....

Something's wrong with Seph.
I've been noticing it the last few days, but I've wanted to think it's just work stress. He's so tired all the time, and he's been getting so he doesn't remember where he put stuff. He's always had a really good memory, so something can't be right. Today he looked really flushed, too.
I just can't help remembering what happened to me all those years ago, before Seph ever lost his mind. I was poisoned, and from what Seph told me later, I nearly died. What if he .... ?
No, it couldn't happen. Who'd have a reason to do something like that to him? It couldn't be this embezzler. Seph's been acting weird since before we realized somebody was stealing funds.
Of course, he insists he's fine. That's Seph, too prideful to ever admit when he's in misery. He doesn't want me to worry, either. But he should know by now that I'll worry whether he tells me or not. And it's more of a worry when I don't know what's going on. Maybe he doesn't know, either.
... Cloud's yelling for me to come. He says Seph collapsed.

Dunno how I stumbled on it, but I found some picture someone drew of Seph apparently planning to ... er ... have his way with Cloud? Usually I just laugh off the rumors when I see them, but man. That was just creepy.
Actually, Seph and Cloud probably could sue, if they felt like it. But they'd rather not drag that stuff out in public and have a big messy court case. And I don't blame them for that.
Heh ... reminds me of that time years ago when Seph and I found out that some of the other SOLDIERs thought we were something other than friends. Dunno where they come up with this stuff, but oh well. Doesn't really matter. It's not as if we don't know the truth! As Seph says, that's what's most important.
I better get back to going through these employee records. We've already picked out a few possible suspects for this embezzling thing. Just hope whoever it is isn't wise to us....

Dunno what it is, but I've been kinda bummed out all day. Maybe it's just leftover stress from the dinner. Or maybe it's the workload. I thought we'd fixed a problem one of the clients was having, but today we've been playing email tag with him as he's found a whole bunch of new complaints! Man.
Oh yeah, and then the fax machine broke a while ago. Wouldn't send or receive anything, but it kept making that whining noise every time the people in the Accounting department or the guy in Japan tried to put something through. Cloud finally got so mad he pulled the plug out of the wall to shut it up.
His computer started acting weird too. He was moving it over to put something else in the back, and it had a heart attack and gave him the blue screen of death. Then it wouldn't reboot! Finally he had to take the cover off and mess around with the stuff in there. Said there was a card just hanging by a thread. So he shoved it in further and tightened it, and then things came on okay.
Seph said things usually are busy, but not like this. I think he's got pretty worn out too. He was sending most of the emails to the unhappy client, and trying to talk to the guy in Japan on the phone at the same time.
And then, just out of the blue, the secretary said another client was waiting down in one of the conference rooms! Whoops. Guess we completely forgot about that meeting. So I went down to talk to the guy while Cloud tried to comb his hair down normally after he'd messed it up more, and while Seph tried to find where he'd tossed his suit jacket.
And, for a great way to end the day, we found that somebody's embezzling funds! No clue who yet. We brought some records home to look over, but I think right now we're all too bushed to make sense of any of it.
You know, I think I started picking up some of Cloud's sarcasm. Must be the long day's effects.
One of Aerith's backrubs will feel really good about now.

That's about the only word for it. That was ... really weird.
When we got to the place, there were already lots of people from other companies milling around. Rufus and Tseng were there, and I went over to say Hello. It seems like a lot of things are still fuzzy in Tseng's mind, but he did remember me. Afraid I nearly bowled the poor guy over when I popped up. He didn't know I've been brought back to life!
The president of the Paradius company was there, too. I wonder what that place actually does, anyway? I mean, they never even have press conferences. And when I saw the guy, I figured out why. I mean, he's less sociable than Seph, and that's really saying something. We all shook hands with him, but nothing was really said other than that.
It got kinda awkward, because the seating arrangement ended up being us and him, and some guy from a place in Germany. And if Mr. Paradius was stony, this Mr. von Schroider was just the opposite! He was suggesting possible business meetings, but Seph and Mr. Paradius both said they weren't interested.
Cloud said von Schroider's approached him and Seph before. Seph really isn't interested in making any deals with companies that mostly market trading card games and that kinda thing, but if he was gonna take an offer from one of them, it wouldn't be with von Schroider's company.
The president of Industrial Illusions ended up sloshed before the night was over. It was kinda funny---I mean, he ended up getting into a good-natured argument about the merits of some cartoon show! But it wasn't what I was expecting to see. I thought these people were worried about keeping up appearances. Seph said that guy doesn't care much, but that he's somehow been able to run a high-profit corporation for years now, so he must be more intelligent than he looks. Either that or his board of directors are really the ones running the place.
Ah, Seph, always with your pessimism!
Speaking of keeping up appearances, before the night was over, Seph had abandoned his tie and me and Cloud had both loosened ours. Seph actually unbuttoned his shirt about a third of the way down. Heh ... I didn't think he'd be able to stand it. But I guess by that point, a lot of people there were getting worn out.
All in all, it was a pretty crazy experience. But I guess I'd better start getting used to it!

Well, I guess I'll be figuring out this journal thing over the next few days. Should be interesting, especially since the computers on this planet aren't as advanced as the ones on Gaia.
I guess most things here are like that---not as advanced, I mean. Maybe it's better that way. Things kinda seem calmer here than there, but it does look like the place might be heading for the same future as Gaia. There's new technology every week!
Doesn't seem like there's any magic, though, at least nothing officially recognized by everybody. There's definitely been some crazy stuff going on, and not just connected with Jenova either. I've got this funny feeling that we haven't seen the last of the off-the-wall escapades!
It's weird, thinking about working in the company building now. I know my job will include meeting and talking to a lot of people, and that's probably why Seph and Cloud figured it'd be perfect for me, but some of it will be behind a desk too. Maybe not as much paperwork as we had in SOLDIER, but still. It's just a lot different than going out on assignments all the time, righting wrongs with swords when we have to.
Oh, don't get me wrong---I like it! It's great to be alive again, and after everything we've been through, I've gotta say that I'd be happy to kick back for a while without needing to save the world. I think Cloud feels the same way ... or he would, if he liked to relax! The guy's always so tense. Cloud, Cloud, what am I gonna do with ya?!
The whole thing must be even weirder for Seph. He didn't even really want to go back to work here after Jenova got sealed away. Said he was a warrior and not a businessman. Guess that's true. But he and Cloud have done good! Jenova Corp's one of the most well-known companies now, and not just here in America either.
... Jenova Corp. Man, I gotta see about them changing the name. I know Seph came up with it when he didn't remember anything, but wow, that's freaky.
Wonder what we'd name it instead. Seph hates his real last name, and he has ever since he found out what it actually is. "Hojo Corp" ... that'd be creepy too.
He and Cloud co-own the place now, so maybe the name should be something connected with both of them. Maybe it shouldn't even have anything to do with their names.
"Gaia Corp"? "Midgar Enterprises"?
Hey, the last one's kinda catchy. A little piece of home.
Wonder if we'll ever get back there. I'm not in any hurry, since things are going good for us here, but hey ... it's the only home we've known until just a few months ago. Not something you can forget about easily.
Oh, guess I'd better go. We've got a business dinner tonight. Cloud keeps saying it's gonna be the dinner from Hell. If I've gotta wear this tie the whole time, I'm getting an idea of why he says that!
... And wow. These dinners are about the only times I've ever seen Seph wear a buttoned shirt! Maybe Hell actually will freeze over.
